Welcome to the online course and training site for Southern Technical College's Distance Education Program. The navigational links on the lower right and at the top of this page will provide you with the resources you will need to begin your online experience. In addition to detailed User Manuals (that can be printed from the webpage at any time) this site also contains an orientation training video, an online platform newsblog, as well as a timeline of dates for the upcoming and current terms.
First and foremost, we want to help you navigate this online site. If this is your first time taking an online course, you will want to do the following:
Students accessing courses in eCollege from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac may encounter an authentication or time-out error. This error occurs when cookies are disabled in the Safari browser, and they are disabled by default. Cookies need to be enabled to access your online courses.
To enable cookies on Safari for Mac (Desktop & Notebook):
1. Open Safari.
2. In the menu bar, select the Safari menu, and select Preferences.
3. Select the Privacy tab.
4. In the "Block Cookies" section, select "Never" -- If your version of the application has an "Accept Cookies" section, select "Always".
To enable cookies on Safari for Mobile (iPhone & iPad):
1. Open the Settings App.
2. Tap Safari.
3. Tap "Accept Cookies" (for iOS6 and earlier) or tap "Block Cookies" (for iOS7 and newer).
4. Set to "Always accept cookies" (for iOS6 and earlier) or set to "Never block cookies" (for iOS7 and newer).
Campus Safety Policies and Campus Crime Statistics are published in the Southern Technical College Campus Safety Report. This document discloses information concerning the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other related matters. The Southern Technical College Crime Statistics Report covers crimes reported that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the institution, and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus, over the previous three years. Detailed policies and statistics regarding campus safety may be found at the OPE Campus Security Statistics Website located at http://ope.ed.gov/security/. This website can also be accessed through our school website at www.southerntech.edu or through the Learning Resource Center.
